Talk: ctx_ – unified context manager
As engineering teams juggle multiple cloud providers, Kubernetes clusters, VPN connections, and secrets backends, context switching between environments becomes a hidden productivity killer.
Ctx is an open-source CLI tool that unifies cloud access, identity, and secrets management into a single workflow. It handles SSO authentication across AWS, GCP, and Azure, automates Kubernetes and Nomad context switching, manages VPN connections, and pulls secrets from Vault, Bitwarden, 1Password, and more, all while maintaining shell isolation and per-context browser profiles.
In this talk, he will walk through the problems that led to building ctx, demonstrate how it eliminates the daily friction of working across environments, and share lessons learned from building developer tooling in the open.
