Talk: Vibe Coding Dashboards: Building an AI-Native Analytics Platform

Traditional BI tools assume humans manually build dashboards. But as AI coding tools became powerful, we asked a different question: what would analytics look like if AI was the primary development interface?

At Wix we explored this by building Vizion, an AI-native analytics framework where dashboards are treated as software. Instead of assembling charts in BI tools, dashboards are lightweight artifacts written in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and SQL, while the platform provides shared infrastructure for query execution, caching, access control, and BI instrumentation.

To make AI-driven development reliable, we expose the analytics environment through structured interfaces using MCP servers. LLM tools can discover dashboards, generate SQL, connect to data sources, and modify analytics artifacts without guessing how the system works. On top of this layer we built reusable AI workflows that scaffold dashboards, connect queries, and apply shared analytics patterns.

In this talk I’ll share the architecture behind this system and lessons learned from running AI-assisted analytics development across dozens of teams and hundreds of dashboards. The result is a workflow where building dashboards, exploring data, and creating investigation tools often starts with a prompt.
