DORS/CLUC – Dani otvorenih računarskih sustava / Croatian Linux Users’ Conference – is the longest-running regional conference, serving the tech community for 33 years.
Our Focus: Code, Ops, and Community
DORS/CLUC is laser-focused on providing actionable knowledge for today’s developers, software architects, and DevOps engineers while also providing a place for businesses to meet and interact with the community.
We deliver a program that is heavy on technical sessions, practical workshops, and modern implementation strategies, as well as inspirational keynotes and policy topics. Whether you are building the next big application or managing large-scale cloud infrastructure, DORS/CLUC is where you’ll find the answers.
What You Will Experience:
Track 1: Modern Development & Architecture
- Cloud-Native Development: Private and public cloud topics, distributed systems, microservices, function-as-a-service, large scale deployments, cloud architecture patterns.
- Languages & Frameworks: Advanced topics, performance tuning, and new features in popular programming languages (e.g., Python, Go, Rust, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Erlang etc.).
- System Design: Designing for scale, resilience, distributed systems, and modern message queues.
- Data Engineering: Data storage, manipulation, streaming, and large-scale data processing.
- AI & ML: real-world examples of AI integration, development, model development, locally running models and agents, etc.
- FLOSS: projects that successfully applied or contributed to free and open source software and frameworks
Track 2: DevOps, Infrastructure & Security
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Real-world usage of Terraform, Ansible, Pulumi, Saltstack, etc.
- Kubernetes & Container Orchestration: Production deployment strategies, advanced networking, and cost optimization.
- CI/CD Automation: Building robust, secure, and fast deployment pipelines.
- Observability & Monitoring: Techniques and open-source tools for logging, metrics, tracing, and effective alerting (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana).
- DevSecOps: Shifting security left, vulnerability management in CI/CD, and open-source security tools.
- Cybersecurity and compliance: Securing services, infrastructure, software; challenges in designing secure software; policy compliance etc.
Track 3: Community, Policy, Projects, and Free Software
This track focuses on the broader ecosystem, governance, and the human element of open technology. It’s the core that drives everything else.
- FOSS Governance and Licensing: Policy discussions, legal frameworks, and best practices for license compliance.
- Community Building & Sustainability: How to start, grow, and maintain a healthy, welcoming open-source project or community.
- Open Hardware & Ethical Tech: Projects, case studies, and discussions about technology outside the pure software stack.
- FLOSS in the Public Sector: Case studies on government or education migrations and implementation of open standards.
- Project Showcase: In-depth talks on the architecture, challenges, and roadmaps of significant local or global Free Software projects.
- Everything else: If you have a topic in mind, and can’t relate to any of the above but think it would be a good fit for the DORS/CLUC community, please let us know. We are open!
Our Open Foundation
The technology world runs on open standards and open source software, and this commitment is at the heart of our conference.
While our agenda focuses on modern development and operations, DORS/CLUC remains proudly rooted in the principles of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS). Our history gives us a knowledgeable and authentic perspective on how open source technology drives today’s innovation.
The conference is organized by HrOpen and HULK, two established, non-profit organizations that tirelessly work to promote open technologies and encourage their application in everyday life. Our mission is to keep this knowledge accessible and forward-looking.

The Croatian Association for Open Systems and Internet (HrOpen) was established in 1992. HrOpen is a self-financed, non-profit association modelled after many other similar European associations. From 1993 to 1998, HrOpen was a member of the European Forum for Open Systems. Since 2010, HrOpen has been a member of the OpenForum Europe, an OSS advocacy group with headquarters in Brussels, Belgium.
HrOpen is tasked with promoting FLOSS technology through workshops, seminars and conferences, and providing help by consulting through expert groups. More details about the association itself are available at: www.open.hr

The Croatian Linux Users’ Association (HULK) is a non-profit citizen association that has been promoting development and usage of GNU/Linux systems and other FLOSS technology in Croatia since 1996. Croatian Linux Users’ Association has been recognized as a key figure in consulting, usage and popularization of GNU/Linux operating systems and FLOSS technology.
The Croatian Linux Users’ Association is responsible for activities such as:
- maintaining the www.linux.hr website,
- organizing the DORS/CLUC conference and other similar events, both virtual and live
- educating local users through workshops and talks, as well as helping them by adapting FLOSS solutions to their needs.
